The "Paulson Award" establishes two categories: "Green Innovation" and "Nature Preservation" to collect innovative solutions based on the two dimensions of urban living environment and natural ecological environment. Green innovation:
This category aims to attract and inspire solutions that actively respond to climate change, improve environmental quality, promote energy structure transformation and upgrading, and green and low-carbon development, and build a sustainable future with parallel environment and economy. The "Green Innovation" category collects solutions in the fields of energy resource conservation, comprehensive utilization of resources, circular economy, environmental pollution prevention, energy conservation and emission reduction, etc., and encourages the application of innovation models and emerging technologies, including but not limited to innovation in green financial products and services, and technological innovations such as 5G, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Nature Preservation:
This category aims to discover and commend innovative solutions to protect and restore the natural ecological environment to meet the urgent challenges faced by China of ecosystem degradation and rapid decline in biodiversity, and promote harmonious coexistence between man and nature. The "Nature Conservation" category collection covers various innovative projects and mechanisms that are highly sustainable and scalable to protect and restore natural ecosystems/biodiversity and improve ecosystem service functions.
Application method:
The applicant must be an institution registered in accordance with the law in the mainland of China, such as an enterprise, institution, social organization, non-governmental organization, etc. The declared project must have been put into operation or completed, and relevant facts and data to prove the output and impact of the project must be provided. The 2023 Paulson Award will be officially open for application on April 18 and will close on June 30.
