At the DBS Foundation, we are committed to recognizing, rewarding and supporting influential companies.

With our scholarship support, and DBS Bank's resources and network, many social enterprises have successfully improved their operational and innovative capabilities, expanded into new markets, and deepened their social and/or environmental impact.

In 2022, we will expand the scope of grant applications to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to promote the transformation of SMEs into companies with more social and environmental impact.

Formerly known as the "DBS Foundation Social Enterprise Grants Program", it will be renamed the "Asian Business Influence Award" in 2023.

Companies we are looking for:

Social enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises that use innovative solutions to solve key social or environmental issues and have an impact on the broader community

Seek social enterprises that meet the following conditions:

Companies with a mission to solve key social or environmental issues

Seek small and medium-sized enterprises that meet the following conditions:

Transform from existing core businesses to sustainable business models

Establish new business units or develop new products and services to have an impact on society or the environment

Who are the applicants we are looking for?

1. Mature business model, clear value proposition, and market appeal

2. Clear and targeted plans to use grant funds over the next 2 years to commercialize new projects or further expand on the basis of existing businesses

3. Excellent team with relevant professional knowledge and experience, committed to establishing a sustainable development business model and having an impact on society or the environment

4. Measurable influence goals and the ability to track key influence indicators

(Note: It must be a social enterprise or small and medium-sized enterprise registered in Singapore, China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, India, Indonesia or China Taiwan)

What is the purpose of the grants?

The award of grants is recognition that the company has embarked on a journey of sustainable development. In addition to providing financial support of up to S$250,000, the grants will also provide all-round support to expand social/environmental sustainable development solutions among social enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises and have a more far-reaching positive impact. Examples of sustainable development supported by my previous grants:

Mitigating the effects of climate change:

1. Reduce carbon emissions and carbon footprints

2. Promote circular economy to reduce waste

3. Advocate zero food waste, such as reducing food losses in the supply chain and recycling waste food into sustainable products

Promote food supply resilience and food safety:

1. Promote sustainable agriculture

2. Improve food redistribution and improve nutrition for special groups

Improving the survival and livelihoods of marginalized groups:

1. Empowerment of education/skills

2. Employment opportunities

3. Inclusive finance

Promote good health and well-being:

1. Medical care

2. Mental health

3. Sanitary equipment and systems

4. Improve water quality

5. Other health solutions
