4th Golden Apple Award for Plastic Recycling and Reprocessing
Background of the event
Currently, plastic pollution has become a challenge for all of humanity. Solving this issue and promoting a circular economy for plastics is a global consensus. In 2020, Waste Plastic New Observation launched the “Golden Apple Award for Plastic Recycling and Reprocessing” targeting the plastic recycling industry chain, starting from product design. It sparked enthusiastic participation from the industry, with over 30 companies submitting products and more than 10 winners. The second edition saw over 20 award-winning entries, while the third edition featured over 40 winning products. The popularity of the “Golden Apple Award” continues to rise! By leveraging design to drive sustainability, it has become an effective tool and important platform for enhancing the impact of sustainable products. On June 20, 2023, the call for entries for the 4th Golden Apple Awards for Plastic Recycling and Reprocessing officially commenced. The winning enterprises will be honored at “ChinaReplas2023, the 6th China International Plastic Recycling Exhibition,” where a dedicated exhibition area will also be set up.

01 Golden Apple Award for the Most Influential Figure in the Recycling Industry
Selection Criteria: Individuals who have made outstanding contributions or achieved significant results in the recycling and regeneration industry. Their personal accomplishments reflect industry development trends, lead industry progress, serve as models for industrial growth, provide benchmarks for other enterprises, attract widespread societal attention and recognition, inspire collective societal reflection, and make notable contributions to the human living environment through their efforts. 02 Golden Apple Award for Innovative Applications of Recycled Plastics
Eligible Candidates: Innovative applications of recycled plastics Eligibility criteria: Innovative applications of recycled plastics 03 Plastic packaging and plastic product design innovation – “Golden Apple Award”
Selection targets: Innovative designs in plastic products and plastic packaging Eligibility criteria: Innovative designs that differ from traditional ones, aiming to transform the relationship between plastic products, plastic packaging, and the environment from a design perspective (designs for recycling and regeneration should be submitted for evaluation by relevant associations). 04 Selection of difficult-to-recycle cases for the “Sour Apple Award”
Selection Criteria: Products and designs in various industries such as packaging (for daily chemicals, food, catering, etc.), 3C products, home appliances, automobiles, textiles (including but not limited to these), that are difficult to recycle due to plastic usage, or those that create additional challenges for recycling and regeneration through design.

Activity Process

The registration for the 4th ChinaReplas2023 Golden Apple Awards for Plastic Recycling and Reprocessing is now open, with the deadline set for August 31, 2023. 2023年9月-10月
From September 1 to 30 is the online voting phase (accounting for 20% of the score). From October 1 to 15 is the offline final evaluation meeting (accounting for 80% of the score). From October 15 to 31, evaluation reports will be sent to the candidates. 2023年11月8日
The award ceremony for the 4th ChinaReplas2023 Golden Apple Awards for Plastic Recycling and Reprocessing will be held concurrently with the 6th China International Plastic Recycling Exhibition, featuring a dedicated theme exhibition area for visitors.
