    Program details

In response to the continuous increase in the proportion of new energy power generation and the gradual normalization of user-side power demand response, Tencent, together with Intel and China Telecom, conducted a preliminary feasibility study on demand response through data center computing-power collaboration. This research proposes to reduce the real-time redundancy of power components and adjust the parallel scale and time distribution of business loads by judging the power-power characteristics of computing tasks on the server without affecting business operations. The research conducted practical tests on various strategies for collaborative provision of power flexibility by business-computing power-power. When the server cluster is running different IT task types, by switching the power consumption state of idle servers and utilizing the resource consumption of server subcomponents. Unbalanced, shifting and scaling real-time insensitive tasks, changing the load size and time distribution, can achieve the purposes of saving energy, reducing peak and filling valley loads, etc., and can be suitable for data centers of various sizes and forms., computer rooms, Clusters and servers. This research shows that all three strategies can achieve rapid second-level control of server power according to (grid) instructions, providing a feasibility basis for data centers to participate in demand-side minute-level and second-level responses, or participate in power auxiliary service market transactions., showing that data centers 'power flexibility response has huge potential and broad application prospects. In the next stage, we will pilot the methods verified in the research with actual data center users. Currently, we are recruiting data center users who are willing to serve as pilots. Engineers from the joint team of Tencent and Intel will work with the selected pilot users to analyze and develop power flexibility based on their actual computing task types.
