Program details

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a series of 17 interconnected goals adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015. They have laid out a blueprint for a sustainable future and are committed to addressing the socio-economic, environmental and health aspects of this challenge. This is not just a series of aspirations. Each goal has a series of sub-goals and specific measures.

Springer Nature has launched the "SDG Initiative" to encourage the publication of relevant research and ensure that it receives attention from all parties to help develop solutions to these challenges. We recognize that if we are to address the various global challenges addressed by the SDG, we need to have insights and knowledge from many different disciplines, and we need to help scholars and policymakers from different disciplines easily access these research results and translate research into action.

The Springer Nature Journal team will launch the Sustainable Development Goals Research Forum in 2023, which aims to share cutting-edge sustainable development research trends and emerging research topics, and promote the collision and integration of interdisciplinary concepts, ideas and perspectives., to strengthen the connection between scientific research publishing and the Sustainable Development Goals.

In order to further promote exchanges and cooperation, the second phase of the online forum is planned to be held on the afternoon of February 1, 2024, with the theme: low-carbon and clean energy. We will invite the editor-in-chief of five journals related to low carbon and clean energy to participate in the forum. They will share the latest progress in low carbon and clean energy, the concept of founding the journal, and the summary of the work published by the journal related to the theme of the forum. The forum also set up an interview session with the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief will express their opinions on the questions raised in advance and the audience, combined with SDG Goal 7: The Challenge of Affordable Clean Energy, interdisciplinary cooperation and the transformation of scientific research results.
