The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to "promote green development and promote the harmonious coexistence of man and nature." In order to thoroughly implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Ecological Civilization and create a new situation in green development propaganda and education, under the joint guidance of the Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Department of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Solid Waste and Chemicals Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China Development and Reform Newspaper held a collection of excellent practical cases and public welfare creative works for "Plastic Pollution Control" in 2023.

This event was officially launched on World Environment Day on June 5, 2023. With the theme of "Reducing Plastic Pollution and Protecting the Earth's Home", it extensively collects excellent practical cases and public welfare creative works from the whole society.
