activity background
The world is currently facing a severe energy crisis, and global energy demand is expected to grow by about 0.8% annually before 2030. The share of fossil fuels in the global energy mix will drop from the current 80% to 75% by 2030 and to 60% by 2050. By 2030, clean energy electricity supply must double to limit global temperature rise. Otherwise, the harm caused by climate change may damage global energy security and even endanger the supply of renewable energy. Therefore, the "Industrial Development Report 2022" released by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization proposes the need to develop green transformation, expand investment in energy conversion and circular economy, and promote the acquisition of global green technologies.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization Investment and Technology Promotion Network (UNIDO ITP Network) launched the "UNIDO Global Call Global Proposal Call Campaign" for the first time in 2020 by ITPO Italy (Rome, Italy). This event will be followed up by ITPO Bonn (Bonn, Germany) in 2021 and promoted by ITPO Shanghai (China Shanghai) in 2022. In the past three years, more than 2000 contestants from 108 countries have been attracted to contribute smart solutions.
This year, the "UNIDO Global Call 2023 Global Plan Solicitation Activity" will be led by the Office of Investment and Technology Promotion of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (China, Beijing, UNIDO ITPO Beijing), working together with institutional partners and relevant departments of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization to jointly seek technological solutions in the field of clean and smart energy.
