The 2023 Shanghai International Energy Storage Industry Exhibition, abbreviated as the Shanghai Energy Storage Exhibition, is jointly organized by the Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage 100 People’s Association, China Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage Network, Green Power and Energy Storage Alliance, New Energy Storage Application Alliance, and China Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage Industry Innovation Alliance. It is hosted by Shanghai Heli Exhibition Co., Ltd. Concurrent events include the Shanghai Battery Technology Exhibition, Shanghai Charging and Swapping Exhibition, China International Photovoltaic, Energy Storage, and Charging Industry Conference, and the 9th China International Electric Vehicle Charging and Swapping Industry Conference. The 14th Five-Year Plan period is a critical and opportune time for China to achieve its carbon peak goals, as well as an important strategic window for the development of new energy storage technologies. With rising demands for regulation capabilities in power systems and expanding scale of new energy development and utilization—especially amid the concentrated construction of large-scale wind and solar power bases in deserts and barren areas—new energy storage offers advantages such as shorter construction cycles, flexible site selection, strong regulation capabilities, and better compatibility with new energy development. These strengths are becoming increasingly prominent, making it imperative to accelerate the large-scale application of advanced energy storage technologies. China has already reached world-leading levels in technologies such as lithium-ion batteries and compressed air energy storage. To compete in global energy technology and support green and low-carbon innovation, it is urgent to strengthen the innovation system for new energy storage technologies. As one of the key drivers for creating new business models in the energy industry and new economic engines, new energy storage presents significant opportunities for accelerating industrial development within China’s dual-circulation development strategy. The 2023 Shanghai International Energy Storage Industry Exhibition will be held from June 7th to 9th at the Shanghai Auto Exhibition Center.
