The deadline is September 30. ##PART.2 Participants Government departments, research institutions, commercial institutions, enterprises, non-profit organizations, scientific research institutes, etc. of APEC economies can all participate in this competition as application units. ##PART.3 Participation Plan The scope of projects submitted by the applicant may involve solutions, products, hardware/software development, technical systems, services, buildings, parks, communities and policy implementation. ##PART.5 Award Setting

This competition will set up the "APEC Science, Technology and Innovation Award (APSTI)", which mainly recognizes the advanced technologies and application scenarios of APEC economies in promoting sustainable urban development, as well as the contributions made by cases to promoting trade and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. This year's APSTI will select one gold medal and one silver medal in three categories: green economy, sustainable transportation, and livable cities. The gold and silver awards enjoy APEC bonus support. In addition, APSTI will also set up additional: 5 Best Practice Awards and 5 Most Innovative Awards; 1 Best Inclusion Award to promote gender equality, inclusiveness and women's empowerment, as well as children's groups; and 1 Start-up Award to encourage the sustainable development capabilities and business development capabilities of start-ups; 12 shortlisted awards. ##PART.6 Outcome Document All works that have won the APEC Science, Technology and Innovation Awards (APSTI) will be included in the "APEC Blue Book on Sustainable Development of Cities" and will be included in the outcome document together with the chapter on representative cities of economies in this competition, and will be used as a competition publication by the APEC Secretariat.
