  1. Competition theme

Low-carbon cycle, green development

  1. Competition content

Closely follow the theme of the competition and embody new ideas, new principles, new methods, new technologies and new products. (1) Competition track This competition will set up an independent track for higher education and an industrial proposition track. The independent track of higher education is composed by participating teams according to the competition theme and direction; the industrial proposition track collects competition propositions from the government, society and enterprises around the competition theme. The participating teams select topics from the designated propositions to participate in the competition. The specific propositions will be subsequently released by the competition official website. (2) Group of entries According to the highest academic qualifications among the participating team members, they are divided into undergraduate group and graduate group. (3) Category of entries According to the competition charter, the types of works applied for by the independent track of higher education include: experimental research, research reports, product design and achievement application. There is a separate category for industrial proposition track works. (4) Fields of entries The fields of entries include but are not limited to: theoretical research and current status survey on low-carbon cycles; technological innovation or new product development for resource and energy conservation; technological innovation or new product development for waste recycling; technological innovation or new product development for new energy development and utilization; technological innovation or new product development for greenhouse gas emission reduction and carbon sequestration and enhancement; research on the effects of low-carbon cycles on biodiversity protection.

  1. Competition rules

  2. Participants: Ordinary full-time undergraduate and graduate students. With colleges and universities as participating units, participants must participate in the competition in teams. A single team must not exceed 10 people and 1-5 instructors. Each contestant (each participating team) is limited to one event, and each participating event can only choose to participate in one category, and cannot be concurrently registered.

  3. Work review: The expert committee conducts preliminary review and final review of the work based on its scientific nature, innovation, feasibility and economy, and proposes a list of winners.

  4. All competition results will be obtained after July 1, 2022.

  5. This competition is for public welfare and no entry fee will be charged to all participating teams.

  6. Competition schedule and arrangement

  7. Competition registration: Each participating team must log in to the College Student Low-Carbon Cycle Technology Innovation Competition website from March 20 to April 15, 2024 to fill in the registration information online to register and enter the competition.

  8. Application for works: Each participating team is requested to submit the competition work application form (Attachment 1) and work book (see Attachment 2 for template) online before 24:00 on April 1 to May 10, 2024. The work application form must be signed by the department (or department), stamped with the official seal, scanned and submitted together.

  9. Preliminary review of works: The preliminary time is from May 11 to May 31, 2024. The competition organizing committee will organize experts to conduct preliminary reviews of works online.

  10. Expert review: It is initially scheduled to be held in late June 2024 to determine the third prize and the list of finalists in the competition.

  11. Publication of works: A publicity period of 7 working days will be set for works that pass the review.

  12. Final and finals: The final defense is initially scheduled to be held at the end of July 2024, and the specific plan will be announced separately.

  13. Reward

  14. The competition establishes awards, which are divided into three categories: level awards, individual awards and excellent organization awards.

  15. The grade award includes the special prize, the first prize, the second prize and the third prize. The winning proportion of each level is determined by the competition committee based on the actual situation of the competition scale. The award-winning projects will be further recommended to participate in the "Ecological Civilization Biodiversity and Green Development" science and technology award of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation.

  16. The individual award shall be proposed and established by the expert committee and reported to the competition committee for approval.

  17. The Outstanding Organization Award will be nominated by the Organizing Committee for outstanding performance in the organization of the competition and reported to the Competition Committee for discussion and approval.
