Summit background
Steel is the most commonly used metal in the world today and is widely used in infrastructure construction and the production and manufacturing of machinery, automobiles, aircraft, ships, home appliances and other products in countries around the world. However, with the establishment of net-zero emission targets by governments and industries, the emission reduction and carbon reduction of the steel industry have also become the focus of attention. According to the World Steel Council, the steel industry accounts for 7% to 9% of global carbon dioxide emissions. Against the background of dual-carbon, as one of the high-carbon emission industries that is difficult to reduce emissions, the steel industry is facing huge challenges and pressures with tight time and heavy tasks. However, the highly recyclable green nature of steel materials also makes it the engine of the green economy, supporting and promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of multiple industries and multiple economies.
This 2023 Second China Green Steel International Summit will focus on energy and raw material structure innovation, low-carbon innovation in traditional blast furnace technology routes, hydrogen energy metallurgy, carbon dioxide capture, utilization or storage technology (CCUS) and other new carbon emission reduction technologies, deepen popular trend topics such as digitalization of the steel industry, and provide comprehensive ideas and references for relevant experts and leading representatives in the steel industry. In order to better realize the green, low-carbon and sustainable development of our own enterprises.
