    #1. Overview of the forum
    The World Metropolitan Transportation Development Forum (hereinafter referred to as the "Forum") is the only international transportation conference approved by the Beijing City Government and has become an influential international academic exchange brand in the field of transportation. The forum aims to build a shared platform for domestic and foreign cities, exchange governance experience, and provide reference for decision-making in the capital's transportation work. The forum has been successfully held for six times since 2012. Previous forums have focused on hot and difficult issues in transportation in major cities around the world, providing a platform for transportation strategy decision-makers, experts and scholars in major cities around the world to collide with ideas and exchange experiences. The scope of influence covers many major international cities in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

In this context, this forum has the theme of "Future Transportation: Smart, Shared, Low Carbon, Sustainable", with the needs of serving people as the core, and supported by big data, and explores responses that match future transportation. Strategies, governance methods and policy frameworks promote the deep integration of new technologies and transportation governance, and achieve green, low-carbon and sustainable development of urban transportation.
