#Notice on the Call for Papers for the 2023 Carbon Neutrality International Academic Conference
##1. Introduction to the Conference
The first International Academic Conference on Carbon Neutrality (ICCN-2023, https://iccn-2023.sjtu.edu.cn/) will be held on October 20-22, 2023 ** at the Longzhimeng Hotel in the Center of Shanghai City **(five-star). The conference was hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and co-organized by the University of Edinburgh, the University of Michigan (Global CO2 Initiative), Tsinghua University, the University of Birmingham, the University of Oxford and the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, China Academy of Sciences.

Achieving carbon neutrality is a systematic change involving science and technology, economy and society, and will fundamentally transform traditional production methods, lifestyles and consumption patterns. Carbon neutrality involves multiple disciplines such as energy, environment, finance, and management, and belongs to a typical cross-type and comprehensive research field. With achieving carbon neutrality as the core, the themes of the conference cover low-carbon energy, ecosystem carbon sinks and environmental governance, carbon finance, carbon management and carbon policies. ICCN-2023 will provide a professional international academic exchange platform for researchers, scientists, engineers and students from around the world to disseminate scientific discoveries, technological breakthroughs, policy innovations and institutional design in the field of carbon neutrality and share research experience in the field of carbon neutrality. We sincerely invite scientists, engineers, researchers and students from all over the world to participate in this event to discuss how to combat global warming and find feasible solutions to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.

##2. Conference Theme

Conference topics include but are not limited to:

  • Hydrogen energy and renewable low-carbon fuels

  • Advanced energy storage

  • Utilization of waste carbon resources

  • Climate policy and finance

  • Carbon reduction and CCUS

  • Smart energy for carbon neutrality

  • Ecosystem carbon sinks and environmental governance

  • Green buildings and low-carbon cities

##3. Important dates

June 30, 2023 (** has been extended to July 20, 2023 **): Deadline for submission of two-page summary

July 31, 2023 (** has been extended to July 31, 2023 **): Deadline for issuance of two-page summary receipt notice

** September 15, 2023 **: Early Bird registration deadline

##4. Submission process

  • Submission language should be English.

##5. Journal publication

Outstanding manuscripts from the conference will have the opportunity to be published in the international academic journal Carbon Neutrality (www.springer.com/journal/43979).

##6. Best Report/Poster Award

This conference will select the best report/poster award.

##7. Registration fee

At least one author of the accepted abstract must be registered. Authors should complete conference registration and payment before the conference. See the table below for the standard for meeting registration fees paid by participants.
