Competition background

As an important industry event that supports the development of high-end green innovation in chemistry and chemical industry, promotes innovation cooperation and exchanges in the international chemical field, and brings together global innovation resources and outstanding talents, the four-year "SCIP+" Green Chemical and Chemical Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has achieved fruitful results. On June 27, 2023, the fifth "SCIP+" Competition was officially launched in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone as scheduled.

Adhering to the development concept of "innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing," this competition is jointly sponsored by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, China Chemical Industry Society, Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone and East China University of Science and Technology. Co-organizers include: China Petrochemical Shanghai Petrochemical Company, Shanghai Huayi Holding Group Company, China Petrochemical Shanghai Gaoqiao Petrochemical Company, Shanghai City Investment Promotion Service Center, Shanghai City Foreign Investment Promotion Center, Suez Asia, Tongcheng Charity Foundation, French Commerce and Investment Agency, Anglo American Resources Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Brightlands Chemelot Campus and Impact Hub Shanghai.

Competition proposition

With the theme of "Green·Shaping the Future", a total of 3 main propositions and a number of designated propositions have been set in this competition

Main proposition 1: Future materials

In the chemical industry, low-carbon raw material substitutions, biomass-based materials, synthetic biomaterials, biomedical materials, biodegradable materials, high-end membrane materials, high-performance engineering plastics, functional polymer materials, composite materials, 3D printing materials, electronic chemicals and its supporting materials and other green new materials. R & D, promotion and application.

Main proposition 2: Future energy

Research and development and application of clean energy such as hydrogen energy, solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy, ocean energy, and geothermal energy, as well as disruptive processes and technologies such as efficient energy storage (focusing on diversified power conversion, new energy chemical energy storage, etc.).

Main proposition 3: Future carbon cycle

Energy-saving transformation and intelligent management of energy and energy-using systems, application and optimization of new equipment, new processes and production processes, electrification, new energy/resource reuse of carbon-containing waste from various industrial, agricultural and domestic sources, Capture, storage and reuse of carbon dioxide.

Contest designated proposition
