In order to respond to China's dual carbon strategy, promote green technology transfer, achievement transformation and international cooperation, and better support China's sustainable development and the realization of carbon neutrality goals, the Zhongguancun Chuanglan Clean Air Industry Alliance joined hands with WIPO GREEN to promote the entry of the "WIPOGREEN" acceleration project into China in 2021 and establish the WIPO GREEN Urban Acceleration Project. The project plans to select five China cities as pilot projects to conduct research and collection on green technology needs around the green challenges faced by the cities, and recruit green technologies from around the world based on these needs, promote the implementation and application of technologies in cities, and accelerate urban green development.
In 2021, the first pilot city of the project will be launched in Beijing. At present, the Beijing pilot project has achieved certain phased results. The project team completed an overall analysis of Beijing City's green technology needs and identified that carbon dioxide emission reduction and air pollution are more severe challenges facing Beijing; completed the first round of collection of technologies and needs, and uploaded the collected information to the WIPO GREEN global database; In response to the collected technology needs of Beijing, we used the WIPO GREEN global database to conduct technology screening, collated more than 600 related technologies, and issued docking invitations to more than 70 technologies from 17 countries, and received many positive responses; 6 rounds of on-site and online inspections and docking meetings were held; 5 groups of partners expressed clear intentions to cooperate. As of December 2022, 2 demonstration projects have been implemented.
