#Key Points of Nomination for the 2023 Environmental Technology Progress Award Since its establishment, the Environmental Technology Progress Award has received extensive attention and support from relevant government management departments, industry organizations, universities, scientific research institutes, environmental protection companies and experts. The nomination process for the 2023 Environmental Technology Progress Award has started, and the nomination deadline is September 20, 2023. 1. Which units and experts are eligible for nomination?
The Environmental Technology Progress Award is collected through a third-party nomination system and will not accept self-recommendation from units or individuals. The following units and individuals can nominate the Environmental Technology Progress Award: (1) Government authorities or industry authorities (department and bureau level and above); (2) National industry associations; (3) Provincial (autonomous regions, municipalities) environmental protection industry associations and sub-provincial urban environmental protection industry associations; (4) Various branches and vice chairman units of China Environmental Protection Industry Association; (5) National engineering technology centers, engineering laboratories, etc. in the field of environmental protection; (6) One academician (China Academy of Sciences/China Academy of Engineering) and one person with a senior professional title can be jointly nominated; (7) Three persons with full and senior professional titles can be jointly nominated. 2. What are the requirements for a nominated project?
Projects nominated for the Environmental Technology Progress Award should meet the following requirements: (1) Projects based on technical achievements can use clear concepts and reliable data to truly and accurately reflect technical principles and objective laws. Technical methods can be repeated and reproduced, and technical indicators can be quantified and judged; (2) The process methods, core or key technologies adopted in the project are original or integrated and innovative, and the overall technical level and technical and economic indicators have reached the advanced level in the industry; (3) The R & D projects included in the government science and technology plan have been accepted, and the core technologies of independent R & D projects of enterprises and institutions have been authorized by intellectual property rights or passed scientific and technological evaluation (appraisal); (4) The core technical achievements have been applied on a commercial scale for more than one year, and have obtained user use certificates and benefit certificates; (5) The papers, works and other supporting materials provided should have been publicly published; (6) Projects with the same technical content may not be nominated for the Environmental Technology Progress Award in the same year and nominated for the review of other similar awards. 3. How to fill in the nomination materials?
The nomination letter is the main basis for the review of the Environmental Technology Progress Award. The nominating unit (nominated expert) must fill in it objectively, truthfully, accurately and completely in accordance with the requirements of the "Nomination Letter for the Environmental Technology Award (2023)"(see Appendix 1 of the "Notice").
Please register a "nomination account" on the nomination system, and then generate a "project application account" in the nomination system. The relationship between the two accounts is shown in the figure below.
The filling person uses the "project filling account" to fill in the main content of the nomination form online and upload the attachment.
After checking that there is no error, click "Confirm Submit" and export the official version of the nomination letter with the watermark of "Environmental Technology Progress Award", and then sign and seal it.

Requirements for submission materials: 1 paper main piece and annexes of the nomination letter are combined and bound into a book, and will be submitted or sent to the meeting by the nominator.
When nominating a unit, one nomination letter should also be submitted at the same time. The content of the nomination letter includes the number of nominated projects and a summary table (the summary table includes: project name, completing unit, completing person and other information), the publicity and results of the nominated project, and is stamped with the official seal of the unit.

The account passwords of registered nominees in the previous year remain unchanged.
How is the work going?Since the award was set up in 2018, the association has adhered to high standards, strict requirements, and preferred quality before quantity. The nomination work has attracted extensive participation from the R & D team. The quality of the awards has been widely recognized by industry experts. The industry influence of the awards has been steadily improved, and it has been well exerted. Encourage industry innovation, lead technological progress, and cultivate an innovation culture. Every year, more than 10 academicians and more than 50 institutions participate in the nomination work, and about 100 experts participate in the award work. A total of 525 nominated projects have been received in four years, and the participating technical achievements cover all ecological and environmental sub-fields such as water, gas, solid, soil, noise, nuclear safety, ecological restoration, clean production, and carbon emission reduction. 80% of the nominated projects are completed by enterprises, with enterprises and scientific research units accounting for 65% and 35% respectively; the number of people applying for awards exceeds 6000, of which 50% have senior professional titles.
At present, a total of 141 award-winning projects have been selected, including 1 special prize project, 34 first prize projects, and 106 second prize projects. The award rate does not exceed 30%. The comprehensive output value of the annual award-winning projects is as high as 30 billion yuan/year, involving more than 1500 patents. The 2019 Tsinghua University Special Award project won the first prize of the 2020 National Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2020, the first prize project won by China Environmental Monitoring Station was awarded the title of "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in China's Ecological Environment" selected by the Ecological Environment Industry Consortium of the China Association for Science and Technology, which greatly inspired the forces of industry, academia and academia to participate in industrial technology innovation.
