With the acceleration of global energy transformation, Pakistan's vast market demand is highly consistent with China's leading technological and industrial advantages. Win-win energy cooperation between China and Pakistan is continuing to release strong green development potential. Recently, New Energy Nexus (NEX) China and Renewables First, a well-known think tank in Pakistan, jointly launched the "Pak-China Clean Energy Connect" project, aiming to promote technology transfer, localized manufacturing and the implementation of sustainable energy solutions in the Pakistan market. All companies planning to enter the Pakistan energy market are welcome to send an email to sign up to participate.

Why launch the "China-Pakistan Clean Energy Connect" project

For many years, Pakistan has been plagued by power shortages and soaring electricity prices. In order to cope with this dilemma, Pakistan's electricity consumers have gradually turned to distributed energy solutions, setting off an energy revolution with photovoltaic at its core (click for details). But behind the growing installed capacity is a transformation that is still structurally fragile and incomplete. Relying on imported hardware and missing key technologies puts Pakistan at risk of falling into a technology-dependent model. At the same time, China is facing multiple pressures of overcapacity, shrinking market profits and trade restrictions, and urgently needs to find an energy market with huge demand and rapid growth. Therefore, China-Pakistan energy cooperation has become a strategically compatible, mutually beneficial and win-win solution. NEX China and the well-known Pakistani think tank Renewables First jointly launched the "Pak-China Clean Energy Connect" project, which is to seize this opportunity to build a bridge between China's innovative energy technology and Pakistan's vast market and build a system. The collaborative platform helps Pakistan improve energy resilience and accelerate the deployment of renewable energy. It also provides relevant Chinese companies with substantial opportunities for technology application, capacity cooperation and market expansion.

Why is the "China-Pakistan Clean Energy Connect" project

The "China-Pakistan Clean Energy Connect" project will go beyond a single technology docking and strive to build an all-round cooperation framework covering technology transfer, local manufacturing, joint R & D and long-term capacity building, so as to promote the establishment of sustainable partnerships between companies from both sides and jointly Cultivate Pakistan's local clean energy industry ecosystem. Through a three-stage enabling path, the project will help innovative companies meet their diverse needs such as resource integration, docking and cooperation negotiation during the Shanghai Climate Week: ● Phase 1: Demand matching and project reserve Systematically assess the needs and gaps of the Pakistan market in priority technology areas, establish enterprise capability files, and complete preliminary matching and reserve of potential cooperation projects. ● Phase 2: Deep docking and agreement advancement During the 2026 Shanghai Climate Week, cooperation intentions will be transformed into specific joint ventures, technology licensing or joint development agreements through symposiums, mutual visits between companies and business negotiations. ● Phase 3: Local implementation and ecological construction Establish a long-term cooperation support mechanism to empower the implementation of projects, assist in coordinating policies and standards in the localization process, and build a sustainable industrial cooperation ecosystem.

What aspects will the "China-Pakistan Clean Energy Connect" project focus on?

The "China-Pakistan Clean Energy Connect" project will focus on four key technology areas. These tracks are not only urgent needs for the upgrading of Pakistan's energy system, but also a key direction for China's technological advantages and industrial transformation: Battery Assembly, Manufacturing and Battery Management System (BMS)

Battery assembly, manufacturing and battery management systems (BMS) are the key to ensuring power grid stability, supporting large-scale grid connection of renewable energy, and cutting peaks and filling valleys. For Pakistan, developing this technology is the core path to realize flexible regulation of the power system and cultivate local industrial chains; for China companies, localized cooperation of this technology can effectively deal with trade barriers and lay the foundation for long-term development of Pakistan and the wider regional market. Grid shaping inverter, energy management system (EMS)

Grid shaping inverters and energy management systems (EMS) are the brain of energy storage systems. For Pakistan, this technology can effectively cope with power grid fluctuations caused by a high proportion of solar energy access and enhance the stability and regulation capabilities of fragile power grids; for China, this is an important path to promote high value-added, technology-intensive products to go out to sea, helping to form differentiated competitive advantages for technology going out to sea. Small and medium-sized wind power generation systems

Small and medium-sized wind power generation systems are suitable for distributed power generation and wind-wind complementary application scenarios, especially for the distributed energy needs of rural and industrial areas in Pakistan; for China companies, this technology will help develop new energy storage technologies and achieve flexible configuration and efficient utilization of energy systems. Electric vehicle charging infrastructure and power electronics technology

Electric vehicle charging infrastructure is a core component of a healthy electric vehicle ecosystem. It is a distribution network and dedicated power infrastructure planned for vehicle charging. The localized development of this technology is an important foundation for Pakistan to promote the popularization of electric vehicles, promote the transformation of industrial electrification, and realize vehicle-network interaction; China's mature experience and production capacity in this field are perfectly consistent with Pakistan's rapidly expanding market demand. We sincerely invite companies with innovative products and technologies in the above technical fields to contact us to consult on detailed cooperation content, jointly promote the deepening and practical cooperation between China and Pakistan in clean energy, inject impetus into green cooperation among countries in the global South, and provide Asian solutions for the world's energy transformation.
